Design #101 Farr 740 Sport

developments at a moderate cost.

Sea Nymph Boats Ltd (now McDell Marine) builders of more than 7000 GRP boats has in conjunction with Farr Yacht Design, developed a highly sophisticated construction layup for the 740 Sport using woven and unidirectional rovings with core materials of "Klegecell" foam in the deck and "Firet" coremat in the hull. The result is a light, extremely strong boat of high standard.

Despite the attention to race-winning design the yacht has four full-size berths. Two can convert to a double berth if required. There's room, too, for an additional quarter berth. The galley has a sink with storage below, an icebox and an area for a two-burner gimballed stove. The toilet area is forward of the bulkhead for privacy and easy access. Storage is copious with lockers under all berths and huge areas aft for sail storage. The cockpit has a locker for outboard fuel tank and another gear locker. The combination sliding main hatch/pop top allows lots of headroom. The wrap-around window lets in plenty of light and allows a wide view. The large forward hatch gives easy access and ventilation and there's a locker forward for anchor storage. The cockpit is large for comfortable cruising and the wide side decks are a comfort boon for the crew men when out racing.
