FARR IMS 49 PINBALL WIZARD - IRC Updated
1997
1997 Farr IMS 49 PINBALL WIZARD- $149,500 USD
Pinball Wizard is a Farr 49, IMS based design built by Boat Speed in 1997. Unlike most IMS boats of the time, Pinball Wizard is 100% carbon fiber composite. The long term benefit is a higher quality build that is ultimately more durable and more versatile. This is apparent in this boats life after IMS, as it has transitioned into PHRF, ORR and now IRC with continued success.
Pinball Wizard has been updated and now incorporates redistributed ballast, having moved the internal ballast to a new keel bulb. The boat now offers increased stability and performance, especially in the higher wind ranges. Downwind Pinball Wizard now features masthead spinnakers, greatly improving off-wind speed and angle.
Pinball Wizard is an exceptional value in a Grand-Prix racing yacht, guaranteed to excite any racing team!

| Hull/Deck Construction Details: |
Carbon fiber hull and deck construction were chosen for its lightweight and stiffness, which should prove to be beneficial in windier conditions and choppy seas. Other components such as the internal framing and rudderstock are also constructed from carbon to gain the maximum strength to performance advantage.
|
| Interior Layout: |
The interior is built strictly for racing, to conform with IMS racing requirements. The owner and crew felt that bare bones accommodations were all that was necessary, wanting to keep the boat light and fast. Six crew members can sleep comfortably on the weather side during overnight races. There is a three burner stove and ice box are in the main salon, head and lavatory are forward while the navigation station is highly functional and conveniently located just aft of the companionway.
