Ian joined Farr Yacht Sales in 2011 to manage the brokerage office.
Ian will continue to develop Farr Yacht Sales as a first rate brokerage firm offering exceptional service for selling, buying, charter and project management. A key focus of Ian's will be to develop FYS brokerage partners worldwide. Additionally, Ian will represent Farr Yacht Design at select regattas and marine industry events.
Prior to joining Farr Yacht Sales, Ian has worked as a professional sailor for several years. He began racing at a high level as a young child on his father’s FARR 44 GAUCHO. Since then he has excelled in becoming a world class yachtsmen competing in Americas’ Cup, Grand Prix Inshore/ Offshore racing as well as the Match Racing Circuit. Ian has participated in winning every major US big boat regatta and many international events. Since 2007 he has focused his efforts on Maxi Yachts and TP52’s often serving as sail coordinator for many of these projects.
Having raced on a broad spectrum of boats from Etchells to Maxi Yachts, Ian’s interests are equally satisfied by racing on offshore one-design, IRC yachts or ocean racers. As a complement to his brokerage duties, Ian will continue to sail professionally serving as a trimmer and sail coordinator.
