Designer’s Notes
Design #281 - Farr IMS 50 June 1993 The Farr IMS 50 was designed to answer the needs of clients desiring a powerful, fast, and exciting dual purpose 50-footer for inshore and offshore IMS racing with the possibility of one-design fleets forming, and for people who appreciate the simple satisfaction of fast performance cruising. Australian Alf Neate raced MORNING MIST at the Kodak Asia Pacific Championship and Sydney-Hobart Race in December, 1992 and achieved outstanding results. MORNING MIST won first in class and second overall in the Sydney-Hobart, and placed second in the IMS fleet for the Asia Pacific Championship. American Bob Crompton received delivery of FULL CRY in Florida and raced her days later at Yachting's Key West Race Week in January, 1993. At her debut event FULL CRY won IMS A.
