Design #546 VO70 Tank Testing onto the job as soon as we could and advance the design work to a stage where we could present clients with a complete and well developed set of drawings, assessment of appendage options, performance figures, sail plans, deck layouts and interior arrangements for discussion on day one. There are also some demanding mechanical issues relating to the actuation of the appendage set, which we have developed hand in hand with the rest of the design. This will help teams get the feel for the new boats quickly and advance their learning in a big jump" said Steve Morris, Vice President of Farr Yacht Design. Farr Yacht Design has advanced an extensive research program on the new rule at their expense. We think this will give any team signing up with Farr Yacht Design at least a 3-month development advantage over any other design team. The results of this research are available to clients that commission Farr Yacht Design to provide design services for their VOR 70 race entry.
